Hand spun & plied "designer yarn"

Posted by Picasa22 micron merino fleece hand spun & hand dyed and plied with woollen thread to make a chunky thick designer yarn suitable to knit with large needles a warm beanie or scarf or whatever your creative mind takes you.
I dye them in all colour combinations from black and white, brown and pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple as shown above. or just spin up and leave white.
I am addicted to dyeing, which I do in the microwave. I use non toxic, & commercial type dyes.
I have several spinning wheels:- Electric with Woolie Winder, Babe DT with Woolie Winder, Ashford traditional x 2 ( I love them all ) and as I am a bit lazy I have a Motorize Skein Winder.
Gives me time to do other projects.

Hand Dyed Merino Fleece

Posted by Picasa22 micron merino fleece, hand dyed ready to spin up or to felt with.
I start off with lovely white slivers of merino fleece and get out the dyes and create wonderful colourful combinations. I never run out of ideas, and when they are hung out on the line it is almost the buzz you get when you eat chocolate. Even better.
Then you are anxious to dye the next lot, and add it to your STASH.
