Erupting Volcano Felt Hat

Earth ,Water, Wind, Fire is the theme for this years Alice Springs Beanie Festival 2011. I am entering this in the competition and see if I have any luck but after being up at Alice Springs a couple of years back and seeing the competition entries I havent much luck, but I would be happy to sell it.
If have just finished this hat and have packed it away with other beanies and spun wool yarns.
I used pre dyed merino fleece and tussah silk and angelina (glitter) for embellishement.
It would fit a large size head but probably worn at a party or for a Fun event.

Natural Black Alpaca Beanies

In my stash I found this lovely natural black alpaca which I firstly spun up with mohair which I had prevoiusly dyed all different colours. picking at random different colours I plied it back with black wool yarn, so beanie "top" has this spun yarn at the band.

Second sample I plied with glitter which I dyed aqua and with an added purple angelina gave it a bit of bling. "middle" has this yarn at the band.

Third sample I plied with glitter I dyed gold to tan. "bottom" has this yarn at the bottom.

I just loved working with this natural black alpaca, I was very happy with the result they are soft and very comfortable to wear. I have a good stash so I'm keen to get out the spinning wheel and see what I can design from my other stash of mohair, glitter, angelina etc. please double click on photo to see more close up detail.

Hand Felted Knitting Bag

This is my Hand Felted Knitted Bag that I started yesterday and I have just finished sewing on the straps. Look below I have tried to explain how I made this Bag. It takes a bit of time and helps built up those arms so that cant be bad, Now I have a nice knitting bag to show off my
hand spun yarns, and long enough to fit my favorite knitting needles.
I am happy with the final effect of colour and embellishments I have added some of my odd novelty yarn plied with metalic or rayon thread, some mohair, angelina (bling) and commercial yarn.
